I moved to a new residence less than 5km from the old and requested a landline transfer with plenty of notice. I was told it would happen on the 25th of February so I took the day off work and sat waiting for the technician who never arrived. I had confirmed this appointment three times via 10210. I then called on the 26th to be informed I could not transfer the line as there was no availability. Later that day I was then told I could transfer the line because a line had mysteriously become available, appointment made for 7/3/2016. Today I'm told I can't transfer my line, I have to install a new line and of course this will cost me, not only for the new installation but for another two months paying for a landline I will no longer have access to but also for my internet dsl line because no one could communicate to me in time that I would not be able to transfer my old line. How difficult is it for Telkom to see that my old line was a different exchange? Surely this is their business? Now I'm left with massive bills because no one could be bothered to inform me of this fact. I have to give 30 days notice on my landline and dsl and that takes me into April. Off sides Telkom!
