Line switched off 10 October yet billed for line rental

Hi, my dad cancelled his adsl and his line which was then switched off on 10 October. He then received a bill for line rental etc from 17 October. This is incorrect and needs to be rectified as soon as possible. He is a pensioner now and cannot stand in the long lines at the store. Please assist him as soon as possible.
