Line reinstatement nightmare!

I had asked for a line relocation on the 11th of August but for some reason Telkom terminated my line at my current residence on the 7th, 5 days too early. I had specifically asked that I needed to use my ADSL line until the relocation date.

During my numerous phone calls to Telkom requesting reinstatement of my ADSL line, I had then asked that the line relocation now only happen on the 18th and that I would like my ADSL reinstated and working until that date.

On Tuesday Andile ********** said it would be done by 1pm and gave me a reference number ( ********** 94A) and his email address to follow up if it wasn't working by 1pm. I contacted him at 4.30pm as it still was not working and he said I needed to now talk to someone in technical. The person in technical said that the order was pending and I that needed to talk to someone in sales and he put me through. The person in sales said she had done all she could and that it was now up to the 'back office' to reinstate the line, but she was sure it would happen within 24 hours and she gave me another reference number ( ********** ).

Come Thursday it was still not working so I phoned sales again and was told that the order was indeed placed and that it should be working during the course of the day, but that I should follow up towards the end of the day. Another useless reference number was given to me ( ********** ). I say useless because at no point could any one of the people I spoke to pull up a history of my issue based on the reference number. Every time I spoke to the help centre I had to start from scratch relating my tale of woe.

When the ADSL line was still not working by 4pm I phoned sales again to follow up and was told categorically that the order was indeed placed and that I needed to talk to someone in technical as the line needed to be reactivated. I was put through to technical and now it was the technical guys turn to be categorical. My ADSL line was not syncing, but there was nothing he could do as the order was still pending. I needed to talk to someone in sales again, 'a manager' he suggested. Someone who could 'really check' if the order was placed. When I suggested he follow up with sales to sort this out as I had been back and forth between the sales and technical, and each was pointing figures at the other, he said that it was impossible!

After 6 hours on the phone I am no further than when I started.

Sales needs something from technical, and technical needs something from sales before either can move forward, but at no point does it seem they are communicating with each other.

It boggles the mind that these 2 client facing departments of the same company can not communicate with each other to sort out a clients problem. A problem that was entirely of Telkom's making.

Will someone _please_ sort this out!?!
