Line down 10 days and no service
A tree fell on my line on 3 Jan. Reported fault on 4 Jan. No response from Telkom, despite promise to 'escalate'. And to add insult to injury, on 11 Jan I received an email from Telkom, addressed to 'Dear Valued Customer', wishing me a 'joyous and blessed festive season' and suggesting Telkom products I can buy as gifts!
The way I feel, I would not want Telkom products as a gift. Last year I bought a Telkom mobile device, to use in case of line failure. When I tried to use it I found it was not upgradable to Windows 10. The 'service' agent at the Kenilworth Centre told me it was my fault for upgrading to Windows 10. I had to fight to get a refund from Telkom.
I bought a Vodacom mobile device and data bundle - it works well and their service centre was a pleasure.
I have had Telkom line, ADSL and ISP for many years. I do not feel like a 'valued customer'. On the contrary, I feel that I am treated with contempt. The service is shockingly bad. I have tried every possible means of getting a response from Telkom (call centre, website, going physically to the Telkom centre, emailing a manager) and have had no luck with any of them. No sign of a technician to repair my line.
