Lies, lies, lies

On 22 April 2016 there was a huge storm in my area and my internet / landline was knocked out.

On Saturday morning I contacted telkom fault reporting at 7:30 am to report the fault. I was given the reference number 8CEK230416. For almost a week I contacted your contact centre to find out how the fault was progressing and when someone will be coming to my house to fix it. But no one came. They told me that the technician is "working" on the fault. My question: how could they be working on the fault when the cable at my house had actually snapped and it was still snapped.

On Saturday 30 April 2016, I went into the Tell direct shop to ask them to escalate the fault. About an hour later I received a text with the following reference number 476572. On Sunday 1 May 2016 a technician named Hein contacted me to ask me how my signal was doing. At this point I was having an intermittent signal on and off but nothing constant. This is what I told him and I explained the story about the cable to him. He said that I must monitor the signal during the day and would call me again later that day or on Monday 2 May 2015. On that same day I received a text message that the fault had been restored which it was NOT. My signal remained very poor and intermittent but Hein did not call. I contacted your call centre again and they told me that my case was closed as the problem had been fixed which it was not.

As such I had to re-report the fault and received a new reference number 291CEK030516. Now almost a week later, I still don't have proper signal and I am still waiting for a technician to come fix the problem.

To you at Telkom this might not be a big deal but to me it is. I work from home and need the internet. If I don't work I don't get paid. So for three weeks I have not really been able to work. Also what happens to all the data that I pay for but can't use as my internet has not been restored. This is completely unacceptable and wrong.

Good day

I would just like to let you know that I am extremely unhappy with your service.
