Left Red Faced by Telkom

I went to Telkom kiosk at Meadowpoint in 5th of January to do a Sim Swap and I was told to fork out R10 for a Sim Card, then the lady assisting me asked to wait. When I asked the guy left in the kiosk where she went to he told me she went to buy airtime.

When she got back after 15 minutes she 2 Sim cards and loaded them with R5 airtime each, she then proceeded to give them to me. When I asked about the Sim Swap, I was told by both the guy and the lady that I needed to pay R30 of which I didn't have at that moment, so I told them I will come back the following day.

I didn't go back the following day as I didn't have time. I found time to do the Sim Swap on the 8th of January and I was in Diepkloof, so I went to Diepkloof Square and was surprised when I was told the Sim card was free, once the guy was done doing the Sim Swap, I wanted to pay him the R30 and he said it was also free, so I enquired with him why would the makeshift branch Meadowpoint ask me to pay when everything was free?

I spend a lot of money on Telkom data and airtime as I use the number for my business. I am very disappointed with the service I got from Meadowpoint, I am even tempted to port to MTN, plus Telkom and MTN are fighting in court about the ICASA interdiction brought by Telkom.
