Land line issues

Good Day<br> <br> My mom has been complaining to me for over a year now that her landline doesn't work. she has been to Telkom several times and they said they would look at other options of fixing her line. her phone rings when you dial it however the actual phone in the house does not ring at all. <br> <br> could we get a cordless phone? will that help my mom in this situation? kindly assist as my mom is old and this line *** is her only means of Telecommunication.<br> <br> Many Thanks<br> Phindile
