Keep paying for Telkom's mistakes

I went to the Telkom shop to update my contact and banking details as these were outdated. However the Telkom agent failed to inform me that it takes Telkom 3 months to update my banking details! Not knowing this crucial piece of information I move my money to a different bank account which caused the Telkom debit order to fail.

So I went to the Telkom shop in White River and the manager advise me to ignore all sms and wait until the end of the month for the next debit order which will settle my account. What he failed to tell me is that I will get a bad credit rating and that my account will be suspended.

Now my account is suspended, the debit order went off (wrong amount, which is Telkom's mistake) and my account is still suspended. What is more is that although my bank statement show the Telkom debit order, Telkom informed me that no amount reflects on their books and they received nothing. I went to the Telkom shop in Menlyn and they advise me there is nothing they can do to help me.

After spending more than 30 min on a call with the Telkom call center I was advised that the reason Telkom do not see the amount is because they collected it via a third party and it will take 24 hours for my account to be reactived. It is now 3 days and my account is still suspended.

Should I keep paying for a suspended service which was not even my mistake to begin with???

My whole family is at Telkom and I will advise all of them including readers of this post to stay away from Telkom and port their numbers to different providers.
