Itc Listing on closed account.
ACCOUNT NO. ********** 36.
I opened an Adsl account with Telkom in 2017 for home use. I only used it for a short while and then saw that it is not for us and went in to cancel the account. I found out if there was anything outstanding and I paid the amount outstanding. Tot my big surprise I got a statement in July 2018 that stated that I owed them R7672.63. I duly went into the Greenacres affices , explained the situation and was told by a very nice lady that she what was happening etc etc. She apologised, opened a case for me ( ********** 2) and told me that all should be well. A little while later I got another statement that stated that they have given me credit as promised and that we are now sorted. You must remember that I have not used any line or ADSL or ANYTHING from Telkom for nearly a year now. The next thing I find out is that late in 2018 I still owe them R 1448.71. So now we start from scratch again. So early this year I go in again draw a statement and see to my surprise that I now owe them R199.92. So magic does happen. I then proceed to tell them that to just simplify things and get this sorted once and for all I will go and pay this amount which I did. So now the next big challenge comes. I give them the Proof of Payment but now I need a paid Up letter. The sales guy helping me promise me that he will send a mail and I will get a letter within 10 days. As you can imagine nothing happens. I then go in again 2 weeks later and ask for the same thing again. Same procedure same outcome. A mail will be sent and I will get a letter within ten days. Now I am still waiting absolutely nothing happened. I paid this 6/2/2019 and I get absolutely no response. The worst is that Telkom in their wisdom has decided to put me on ITC as a slow payer. So the funny side is that I have been listed as a slow/non payer on an account that should not exist. It was closed more than a year ago!!!!!!! So they simply just went ahead and carried on as if per normal. The next very funny thing is that they list me for an amount of R1442 on ITC. A couple of months later they reversed an amount of R1248.79. So in actual fact they admit that the amounts are wrong but sorry for you, we still list you on ITC. How absolutely crazy is that? 1. I now demand that this gets removed from my name immediately. 2. I demand to get a paid up letter immediately. Surely that cannot be too difficult.
I am not putting my hopes up to high as I am not sure that Telkom is in anyway capable of delivering any decent customer service. And that is not only me saying that.
Kind regards Tim Smuts ********** 380
