It would even be difficult for Telkom to top themselves this time!

<p>My wife & I decided to get our own personal wifi at home during April 2017. That being said, we set of to the different WiFi/internet companies/providers. We drove around, talked to different people, did our "homework" & decided to go with Telkom as Telkom was offering the deal, at the time of our search. The April 2017 deal at Telkom was that you get uncapped internet usage/WiFi, including free installion, router etc. We would ONLY be charged R599 per month, from month number 1 until month number 24 when the contract expires. It seemed liked a great deal to us & we decided to go with Telkom because we were told by the consultant, Thabo Lepeli, that the data would be uncapped & that the line speed would be 10Mb per seconds. We couldn't have asked for a better deal for the price! </p> <p> </p> <p>We signed the contract on 26 April 2017 & were told that we now all of a sudden have to pay R700 immediately for a deposit & that we will have to pay 2 installments at the end of May 2017, for the months of May 2017 & June 2017. We paid the R700 & hoped for the best! </p> <p> </p> <p>We were then told that the ADSL could only be installed on 2 May 2017. Credit to the technician for honouring his appointment & being on time. While the technician was busy with the installion, he asked me for the username & password & told him that we never received an username or password. I had to phone Telkom, from my prepaid cellphone, & were transferred from 1 deparment to another, while nobody could assist me, just to get a username & password. This carried on for a hour, without any exaggeration, using my own cellphone. I decided to drive to the Telkom office with the hope that Thabo or any of the other consultants could assist me. Getting there, I was told by Thabo to phone the call centre again this time from Telkom's land line. Again another hour passed, with me being transferred from 1 person to another. Eventually, out of the blue, Thabo gave me a username & password.</p> <p> </p> <p>With this in hand, I left & came to finish the set-up at home. Having finished the setup, by myself, I was happy & thought that we are going to enjoy using this wonderful product from Telkom. </p> <p> </p> <p>I went back to Telkom yesterday, 12/05/2017, to find out that the second page my contract has never been completed by Telkom & including this I found that Thabo wasn't an authorized consultant to sell me this product. The contract that Thabo gave to us to sign was for R799 per month & not the R599 per month that we app**** for. We went back to Telkom this morning & I told Thabo that I would like to cancel the contract & was then told that there was NO manager on duty to cancel my contract & that we had to wait until Monday. I decided to phone the Telkom call centre again & was assisted very quickly today but the call centre consultants, ***ile, instructed me that I had to wait 21 days and can then only log a dispute to get my, wrongfully charged, deposit back.</p> <p> </p> <p>One of my questions to Telkom is as follows: "Why do I have to wait, more than a month, to get my deposit money back & have this service cancelled, while Telkom wanted its money right away before any service was delivered?"</p> <p> </p> <p>My invoice number is: 014 167 133.</p> <p>P.O. Number: 161 905 983.</p> <p>Telkom branch code: 3112</p> <p>Telkom Branch Name: College Square, BLOEMFONTEIN.</p> <p>Date: 26 April 2017</p> <p>Time:12:30</p> <p> </p> <p>I TRUELY UNDERSTAND NOW, WHY PEOPLE GET UPSET WITH TELKOM!</p> <p> </p> <p> Regards.</p> <p>Gerhardus & Sandy van Blerk</p>

Good evening Bharat,

I honestly hope & believe that you are satisfied with the employees that work at the Telkom Mobile store located inside Loch Logan, BLOEMFONTEIN!

I’ve been to the store today in need of assistance to link my ADSL SIM card to my package as it wasn’t linked to my ADSL account, when I purchased it from College Square on 26 April 2017 & also not on my return to the College Square store on Monday, 15 May 2017.

All 3 the consultants greeted me friendly when I entered the store today & Thapelo assured me that he will attend to me as soon as he is done serving the customer that he was busy with. Thapelo managed to link my SIM card to my ADSL account in no time while also explaining to me every step of the way as he was progressing with the process. At the end Thapelo thanked me for allowing him to handle my request as I was his first practical customer. To be honest with you, I thought that Thapelo was experienced, as I didn’t notice any hesitation in his actions.

Thank you for taking the time to speak to me, over the phone, this afternoon, Bharat. I left the store 10/15 minutes after the closing time but they never rushed me to leave & for that I have great respect!

Please keep up the good wor****

It's the 15th of September 2017 & still Telkom sent me an email today stating that they only owe me R122.71, which was supposed to have been paid back. Telkom is making all kinds of excuses for their unqualified personnel, just so that Telkom don't need to pay back any money. Guess what, I'm not going to leave this until Telkom repaid our full amount!
