It takes 6 months to cancel a line and take out a new one

I moved into a house with two friends and they begun the process of cancelling their previous line on the 24th of October.

This line was only cancelled on the 7th of February which is more than 3 months later.

I went to take out a new line on the same day the previous one was cancelled (on the 7th of Feb) and they gave me an installation appointment date for the 9th of April, 2 months later.

This means that it will take close to 6 months to cancel a line and take out a new one.

I found it unacceptable that they expect people to go 6 months of the year without Internet, and provide no valid reason or excuse for this bad service.

Nevermind the fact that i had to pay over R600 just to have someone reconnect our line to the exchange.

Does anyone know whether it is possible to change the appointment to a sooner date, as I cant afford to be without internet for any longer.

We are 3 post graduate engineers who badly require access to the internet to work on our projects.
