Is Telkom trying to capitalize on the lockdown/Covid-19?

Where do I begin! 1stly My information was captured incorrectly by a sales consultant. When I asked about this initially, I was told that its a system error which will be fixed once my details have been processed and my contract is up and running.

2ndly, I was a victim of an attempted armed hijacking, thank God Im here today. But anyway, I happened to lose my phone and had to claim it since I decided to go with the recommended option suggested by the consultant who helped me. Smart lady I felt! But little did I know...

3rdly Im an essential worker during this Covid-19 pandemic and this means I happen to need a phone for work purposes. Now since Telkom released a statement claiming to prioritise essentials, I figured providing them with documents showing that Im indeed working essentially, Telkom would help me do the right thing. Not the case at all.

4thly, I lost my phone a week or two prior to the lockdown and I still haven't heard when I can expect it, but rather the manager at the store told me, "Sir I have no idea when your phone will be delivered but unfortunately you'll have to keep paying until further notice. At this point I felt as if I had been ****med and have signed my life away. Or maybe Telkom are looking to capitalize during this lockdown period?

Lastly, I eventually managed to get into contact with Finrite and I can only hope this works out quickly. But its off to a tricky start. In a space of 3-5mins I spoke to 2 different consultants, got told I need documents from Telkom and I now know that I am paying Telkom but I need to make sure I sort out my own situation when it comes to dealing with Finrite. So FYI taking out insurance with Telkom means Telkom does not help you with your claim at all. I mean one would think it comes with the contract to help customers get their money's worth while demanding they keep paying while waiting for a new phone? As if dealing with a global pandemic isnt enough.
