Is Telkom serious about business or is it just a case of the customer does not matter.

I recently upgraded my ADSL on my landline from 2Mb/s to 10Mb/s on a 24 month contract. At first there is no problem when it is sold to the customer, then I receive a call that my land line can only handle 7Mb/s, and if I wish to continue with the upgrade, I must accept the 7Mb/s at the same cost as the 10Mb/s contract. Which I accepted on the proviso that if the line is upgraded then they must upgrade it to 10Mb/s without charging me for it. So the upgrade went ahead, then I receive my first account for almost R1800 on a contract that was sold to me for R899 per month, to date I have no idea what the extra costs are for.

But then I notice that since the upgrade my router keeps dropping internet connectivity (the intenet light with the picture of the globe on the aztech router switches to red at least 5 to 8 times a day), which means that the router has to be continuously reset in order t have internet connectivity. I have reported this (referrence no: ********** 42) before the 20th of December 2016, but to date I have received no response and no reply. I have tried to re-report it but their system does not allow it as it claims that it has already been reported on the said referrence number.

Then I try and login on the Telkom website, and find that neither my or my wife's login detail work. I have tried to reset passwords using the "forgot your password" prompt numerous times. I get the OTP (one time pin ) sent to me, go through the process of changing the password, and then try and login again, just to be continuosly told that the username and password don't match, I've done this at least ten times.

When you try and call the call centre you must be prepared to wait at least an half an hour to get through, and then when you get through the person on the other end cannot assist you and you get transferred from one consultant to another, and then between these transfers the call gets dropped and you need to start all over again.

I really wonder if Telkom is serious about customer service, at it seems as if they are only concerned about making the sale and thereafter you are left to suffer the consequences of their incompetance.

I they are serious about this service they must sort this issue out urgently, and I expect that they will at least refund me for all the dropped internet lines that I have had over the past month.

My Name is Coenraad Visagie

the line number is ********** 795

This issue is still not resolved, this ADSL line has dropped the internet no less than 11 times today, this is pathetic. This issue originates back to beginning of December 2016, please sort it out.

THE LINE AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE IS: ********** 795

This issue dates back to beginning of December 2016. The fault reference: ********** 42. As you will see on 'hello peter' today, there is a further comment on this issue:- There has been no less than 11 "internet drops" on this line. I've noticed that I have paid in excess of R600 to have my contract upgraded from a 2Mb line to a 10Mb line (which I was told would only allow me up 7Mb, but the highest I have been able to get is 5Mb). So I pay Telkom more than R600 to cancel the 2Mb contract, to get a 10Mb contract, which only gives me a maximum of 5Mb and drops the internet at least 4 times per day, and on some days in excess of 11 times. What is going on with Telkom?, what am I paying for? I thought it was for you to provide me with a service, but I am obviously wrong. This is clear from the fact that if I go on to the Telkom website to report the fault, it prevents me from doing so because the fault that I reported in the beginning of December last year is still listed as a fault on ********** 795. Please do something about this.

It is the 7th of January 2017, my Aztech router on this ridiculous Telkom ADSL landline has dropped the internet already 8 times today. The only response I get from telkom is queries about my number and emails telling me how long my internet has been off. This is really ridiculous as I have to continuously reset the router, it might only be off for 5minutes before I reset it, so telling me how long it has been off in total has no relevance, it problem is that I have to reset the router all the time, because they cannot supply a stable internet connection. I'm reaching the point of reporting the issue to the consumer council, as this problem is recurring from the beginning of December 2016, and is still listed under the fault report ref. No. ********** 42 as 'in progress'. The truth is there is no progress and I'm paying for it.
