Internet not working

3 days ago, my partner noticed the internet going off and on during the course of the day. At 4h30 pm the internet went off, and has not worked again. The XBox and Cell phones connect to the router, but there is no actual internet connection.

We phone Telkom and they tell us there is a fault in our area, but they will log a fault (***). I then get an SMS the next day saying the fault has been fixed, and I should reply YES or NO if this is true. I rep**** NO - The internet still doesn't work. (By the way, no one replies or phones you if you reply NO... pointless.)

So we phone again. This time they tell us our router is the issue and THAT is in fact now the problem. We check our router settings. Today we also phoned Afrihost to check on their side if all is well. They tell us it's Telkom that is the issue.

So we phone back yet again. Now they say the problem most likely is our landline as it is not syncing on their side. A technician will have to be sent out this weekend - but WE might be liable for the cost?! I don't think so.

You broke it, you fix it on your cost - not ours.

We did all the effort of phoning around and sorting this out. Your turn, Telkom.
