Internet down since 19 Dec - Customer Service is DOA

I noted that my phone line was faulty and logged a call on the 19th of Dec. 2 days later my internet connection shuts down. I called the call center to escalate as I use my uncapped for work and Apple TV. To date and an additional R2,000 Out of Bundle Rates and alternative product expense later, the problem has still not been resolved.

i have been to the telkom store more than 5 times and called the contact Centre for service approximately 20 times over the last week. All I get are platitudes and apologies for the service interruptions, but no commitment from telkom as to when my internet service will be restored. I even threatened to close my account and was swiftly assisted with cancellation forms and URL's, very politely alas apologetically as that is within the agents power.

I have been a client of Telkom for many years and have always paid on time. To be treated as if I am a nuisance as I want a service restored that I have paid for is disrespectful. I have incurred additional costs during this service outage as I need to be online for work.

I am am disappointed by the lack of resolution as I am told that it is the holidays and the technicians have a great workload and they can commit to a resolution date of the 10th of January for an outage that will have been ongoing for more than 3 weeks. It shows the lack of service quality and effective management that contingency plans nor technical staff are on standby over this period which impacts the customer.

i have escalated the problem many times with the stores, the contact Centre and even tried the web chat facility that kept disconnecting and the Head Office. The call Centre is like a glorified messenger service and gatekeepers for the people responsible for the networks and service disruptions and isn't able to hold anyone accountable. The customer at the end of the day needs to pay more money for alternative services and spend hours on the phone to be told that a manager will call them back. - which I am still waiting for 24 hours later.

Existing Customers: Don't waste your time expecting your complaints to be dealt with, simply take the cancellation forms and move to another service provider, telkom has a great many customers to fleece, they won't miss your money.

New Customers; If you are considering a product from telkom, note that the promotions may seem great value for money and the technicians will be abundant when installing new products, but don't expect the same response when your services are disrupted,
