Interest overcharge

How is interest on late payments calculated? On my latest bill, I was charged R8 interest for being 4 days late with payment of an R624 account. That is 117% pa interest which I am fairly sure is *******. Is this how Telkom is planning to subsidise their declining revenue streams?

10 weeks later and I received no communication on this matter. I am convinced Telkom just posts generic replies so that they improve their response statistics on this site. But meanwhile back at the ranch, they have no intention of ever actually addressing the complaints!!!
