Incorrect Huawei P8 model supp**** on Contract

I took out a mobile contract on a Huawei P8 phone this past Monday 22 August 2016 on a smart 50 Plan. The store is Cnr Sauer & Main St, Ground Floor, Marshalltown Exchange. I explained to the lady that the reason I'm taking a plan that is low on data is because I already have another sim card from a different network that I use purely for data. The current phone that I have been using got damaged which made it impossible for me to view any messages hence the need for me to obtain a new device. Before I took out this contract I already had my primary number that I use for personal & business purposes which I cannot afford to lose. The other sim card from a different network that I have already mentioned is previously. I then requested that my number which is on prepaid be ported to the new telkom contract. That processed failed the same Monday since I was unable to access my damaged cell phone that I have been using all along.

The next day Tuesday 23 August 2016 I went back to the store to attempt to port my number again & when the consultant at store failed to do that again as the system still didn't allow her to send a request for my prepaid number to be ported, I told her that she can go ahead and supply me with a new Telkom number on this contract. I WILL THEN USE BOTH SIM CARDS (my prepaid & new telkom number) ON THE HUAWEI P8 that I have just taken on contract. The consultant then activated the new Telkom number of which the nano sim card was already inside the phone, she then tried to slot my second prepaid nano sim card to the second slot on the phone. That didn't work & I told he to leave it when I get back to work I will then try & insert the second sim card on the second tray. I then switched on the phone while I was still at the store with only the one Telkom sim card inside to check that the sim is active & then left then store. Upon arriving at the office I then tried to insert the second sim card on my own to the second slot and failed. I even went as far as purchase a different sim card (macro) to try and that still failed. At that point I decide to try and view videos online of how to insert dual sims to a Huawei P8 and from those videos I then realised that the trays on the Huawei P8 I've been supp**** are very different to the videos I've watched.

This was the point that I came to the realisation that the store have supp**** me with the incorrect model. The model they've supp**** me is a single sim Huawei P8 and not a dual sim. A single sim would therefore then not serve the purpose of which I took out this contract in the first place.

On wednesday24 August 2016 I decided to get confirmation of what I have already concluded from Huawei directly. I phoned the customer care line ***and was advised that indeed the Huawei P8 comes in three different models. The LO9, LO3 & L13. The confirmed that the model I have is an LO9 which is single sim and that both the LO3 & L13 are dual sims. They also confirmed as confirmed that Telkom does indeed stock the LO3 & L13. The reference for my call to Huawei is ********** 4

On Thursday 25 August 2016 I then went back to the store to inform and explain to them that I was supp**** with the incorrect model which is single sim and which will not SERVE THE PURPOSE OF WHY I TOOK OUT 1. This specific Huawei P8 for 2. The smart plan 50 which I took out that is low on data since I was relying on using my own data.

The Store Manager was then called in & they told me that 1. I should have told that I wanted a phone that is dual sim. 2. the only dual sim Huawei phone they have is P8 Lite of which i specifically told them I don't want. 3. That now that I have researched that the model they gave is not dual sim I have a change of heart. 4. That the policy which I referred them to that as far as I know I still have 7 days to return the phone and be supp**** with the correct model as an incorrect one was supp**** to me does not apply to Telkom on to other network providers. 5. That the totally disregarded the fact that the other dual sim models exist. As far as their concerned the only dual sim phone is the Huawei P8 Lite. 6. That they knew the phone was single sim when they supp**** it to me

I also do not understand then why would the consultant try and slot my second sim card to the other tray if she knew that the phone was a single sim, after she failed to do that I left the store and told her I will insert the sim on my own since she was battling to do it. At that point both to myself and the consultant she was merely battling to insert the second sim card not because the phone is a single sim but because her ability to do so. Those to me are some of the distinguishing factors in this matter. Had she failed and told me that actually this phone is a single sim only, I can assure I would have not left the store with the phone in that state.

Please assist me

Good Day
I refere to the above complaint I logged on the 25th August 2016. Reference number that I was provided is: Your reference number is AI ********** . To date, I received an email from Tando Mehlo on the 29th August 2016 requesting me to briefly explain what kind of issie I'm having. I responded to that email directing Tando to my original complaint. I haven't heard anything from anyone since then. Can I ask that you give me some sort of indication as to whether someone is attending to my matter or acknowldgement of how long I need to wait until I receive any feedback. I've call the Call Centre today (07/09/2016) on 081 180 and their unable to assist me.
