Incorrect Billing Account
In April 2009 I signed a contract for a business telephone line with Telkom. A few months later they sent me an email requesting payment for a telephone line situated in Pretoria that did not belong to my business. I contacted the call centre and explained to the operator that the line did not belong to me. I gave the operator my business details and the person assured me that the mistake would be rectified. This did not happen and Telkom resorted to debt collectors to harass me for payment for a line that did not belong to me.Subsequently I established that Telkom had linked my business details to the line in question as well as a few other lines. Telkom does not have a customer care centre anymore that I could visit to explain my problem to a person face to face. They are demanding payment of Seven Thousand Rand for telephones that do not belong to me and that are spread all over the country.<br>
