*********** call center agents

I moved from Standard Bank to FNB and had to as a result move my debit orders (one of which was with Telkom Mobile), this all happened in late August/early Spetember. I phoned their call center and was advised that September's payment would have to be made manually and going forward the debit order would go off my FNB account. I was notified that the manual payment had to be made by or on the 20th of September so as to avoid a bounced debit order.

I ensured that payment was made on the 20th. To my shock, the debit order went off on the 25th, as there were no funds in my Standard Bank account, I was charged a penalty by the bank for the bounced debit order.

I noticed that the October payment had not gone off my FNB account and when I called to find out why I was advised that although my banking details were captured, they were for whatever reason not updated as my payment details. As a result, the October debit order was sent to my Standard Bank account (which once again did not have sufficient funds in it).

So now I find myself in a position where, as a result of *********** service, I am inconvenienced yet again by Telkom. Once again I will be charged a penalty for boucned debit order and all Telkom has to say is "I am sorry for the inconvenience, I can imagine your frustration"........

I left Vodacom in the hopes that Telkom would not cause me any such grief and am beginning to wonder if I may have walked into an even bigger mess.
