Incompetency of a Telkom consultant

My Contract with Telkom ended and when I called them to cancel it and rather move it to a prepaid number, I was told they will move it and I won’t forfeit the data on the number ,but the Telkom consultant mistakenly cancel the entire number and now I am told that I won’t get my data back
