Incompetence

I have started moving over to a different bank. i went in to change my banking details with Telkom. After the change i asked the consultant when the debit order would go through on the new account and they advised that it would go through on the 1st of March and that they will still debit from the old account on the 1st of Febuary. i then recieved a statement saying i was behind and then called Telkom. they advised that i had to wait to the 7th for the system to refresh. i also made sure to check my bank statements to make sure that the debit order did not run. the advisor on the phone also said that it would not go off the new account. This morning the debit order went off the new account which did not have any funds in as all my debit orders are still going off my old account. The bounced debit means that there are now additional bank charges being charged to me. I then called Telkom again and after 26 min the call was cut as the consultant was condused. I was on hold for the majority of this time as the advisor had to figure out what was happening costing me over R60 in airtime and thats how i get treated?? So the customer is to carry all the costs for incompetency and i have to call them back again? Is this how Telkom does business? cant figure out whats going on so we drop the call?

Good day Ithabeleng

Thank you for your response.

There are also a few other things that we need to discuss during this process as well, FNB is charging me for the bounced debit order as well which i feel should also be covered by Telkom as it was not my mistake that i was given the incorrect information twice. Please advise as this is R100.

Then the bounced debit order would need to be taken off of my credit score as this puts a blemish on my credit rating i have made sure has always been good. So Telkom would have to sort this out with the relevant rating agencie(s). Please advise on this as well.

This is the account that the last debit order was ment to run on. Once the debit runs from the old account please advise on if i need to go in again and change the banking details back to the new account?
