Impossible to cancel service!

It is apparently impossible to cancel your contract with Telkom once you have a debit order with them. Even when you call the call centre, all they can say is that you should send the email to the address provided. That I have been doing since April- no response- just the automated one saying what you should send. How is it possible that the Call centre can't even provide proper assistance!! So frustrating!!
