Ignore-Therapy

During December, I left Johannesburg to visit family and friends. I bought airtime from a garage store in Limpopo. While I was traveling, I converted my airtime to 4GB, but realized that there was no network in the areas I was visiting. I tried to call Telkom to on their 188 number but could not get through until that data expired. When I eventually got through, I was told that I had used 250mb of that data in 5days and that I could not get re-imbursed on the money that I spent.

First of all I am confused as to why Telkom sold me airtime in an area where there is no network. Secondly, I was told that I should have been able to get through to make changes. Thirdly, I was told that it was my fault for not knowing which areas have no coverage. How was I supposed to check network without airtime/data?

I was posted from pillar to post and made to hold for more than 30 for each call, and when I got through to Mdu, Melinda, and Eldridge Rohlampfu I was just dismissed as irreseponsible and not understanding of what can be done. Its been more than a month and the only responses I get are for me to rate the service. Which service?

All I want is to be re-imbursed my airtime so that I can make another decision on which data package to purchase now that I am back in Joburg.
