If you value your sanity DO NOT transact or even engage with Telkom

Telkom Woodmead to be exact. I took out a contract with a sim and router. The connection was slow from the first day, so slow instagram videos and WhatsApp statuses were buffering. I took it back within seven days and I was told there is nothing they can do, only book in the router to see if it is faulty. I get the router booked in - no paperwork and no waybill were provided so the return cannot be tracked by anyone else in the business. The modem is found to be faulty so they issue a new one. I respectfully declined, as I had sorted out my WiFi with another company. I no longer need a router and they tell me that I will still have to pay for it. Mind you, this router is sitting in their shop, I have not even laid eyes on it! Anyways, I got back and forth with the sales agent and supervisor and the ask to escalate to the manager who was conveniently never in store so I’m communicating with him online. Eventually he stops taking my calls. Weeks go by and I eventually get whole of him and ask to escalate; I have now escalated this matter 3 times! I am being charged a cancellation fee for a modem I have never seen in my life and a data package I use for less than a month. This issue has been on going, with no resolution since the 13th of February, it is now the last week of May. I have never in my life interacted with people who are as ***********, visibly do not care about their clients and have no common decency. And they operate under Telkom and Motivity, so depending on which email address you use, even if it’s the one they emailed you on, they might ‘not receive’ your email. There is a lot I’m leaving out, but this matter, according to customer care and the two other branches I visited, this could have been sorted out by the store. They counter have waived the cost of the router and continued to charge me for the data. But they chose to lie to me and gaslight me!
