I will be waiting for my arrest and 12 months' prison sentence at 7pm tonight Mr. Kelteso Motene (Legal Services: Gauteng & NER) after I have fed my minor children and you will still not have access to my property.

<p>Last week, on Monday or Tuesday the 6th/7th February 2017, a bakkie pulled up outside my home, a man emerged and stated that he was from Telkom and demanded access to my property. Despite the fact that the vehicle had no Telkom identification markings, and considering that I had not reported a fault, this was not only irregular, but downright unsafe. It is not my policy to give access to my private property to any “Tom, ****, Harry, Sifiso, Sechaba, Themba, Song, Chun or Lu” regardless of who they say they are or where they are coming from.</p> <p>I informed the ‘stranger at my gate’ that I would require a personal letter, addressed to me, stating the purpose of the request for access to my property, giving the name and ID number of those who would enter my property, and that once that was obtained, access would be allowed.</p> <p>On Wednesday the 8th of February 2017, the same vehicle and man appeared at my gate, this time with two pieces of paper. The papers did not have a Telkom header, were not addressed to me, and provided no information of any value indicating the man a “right to access my property”. What the papers did state is that the “man in the van” outside my house had something to do with fibres.</p> <p>Putting aside for the moment that contractors of Telkom ‘dealing with fibres’ have already dug up my sidewalk three times last year causing great inconvenience to my ability to leave and enter my home, I have nothing to do with fibres and have no intention of replacing my ADSL line with fibres in the near future. As such, I still could not fathom why “this man in his van” wanted to access my property. When I asked him – his response was that someone in Valley Street, I live in May Street, had ordered fibre related internet and that my property was required to access the Telkom pole to give these people – who I do not know – fibre based internet.</p> <p>The facts so far:</p> <p>1. A stranger wants access to my personal home property – a stranger I do not know, have not called, and who is requesting 3 hours unsupervised access to my home without a written letter of explanation or request.</p> <p>2. This stranger, who produces two photocopied sheets of paper, which tell me nothing, and do not gaurentee my own or my families safety then proceeds to tell me that he wants to access MY property, to benefit a financial transaction made between a company I do not know and someone who lives in another street, who I do not know.</p> <p>3. I am aware that I have a Telkom pole situated at the back of my property, which borders on the property behind me (the one whose entrance is in Valley Street) so my question is, why not use the property of the person who is getting the fibre to access the Telkom pole? No justifiable answer is forthcoming. My response to the current and emerging situation is: That is like going to Pick n’ Pay and selling items for Checkers – I know for a fact that the Telkom pole behind my property is accessible through Valley street, so why is this “man and his van here”? I refused access and repeated my request for a letter listing specific purpose of access to my property, identifying the person/company wanting access, together with a polite request addressed to me as homeowner to allow such access.</p> <p>4. Yesterday (13th of February) I received a letter from Telkom’s Legal department accusing me of “hindrance and interference” of Telkom representatives in their efforts to install telecommunications infrastructure in the vicinity of my property – informing me that if I do not allow access to the “man and his van” a ******** Charge will be brought against me and I will have to pay a fine of R4000 and receive 12 months imprisonment. That is outright harassment and very poor service and communication performance – I refused access and will continue to refuse until the original letter I requested is provided – given the tone and threat to my person however, I am not now inclined to assist anyone from Telkom every again!</p> <p>5. Further, the legalese in the correspondence I received goes on and on about Telkoms’ RIGHT to enter “any land, street, road, footpath RESERVED FOR PUBLIC PURPOSE” – My personal property is not reserved, nor available for public purpose – it is private property and I have a right to defend myself and my property against any threat – real or perceived. </p> <p>6. This morning (14th of February) I took a walk to number 3 Valley Street, to confirm with them that they were putting in Fibre and to ask them why Telkom was unable to access the Telkom pole from their property – wow – Number 3 Valley Street has surrounded themselves with enormous electric fences for their personal safety which prevents Telkom from accessing the pole and line required to install the fibre. 2 Questions: 1) How is that MY problem? And 2) Why can they not shut down the live electricity feed for the time required to sort out their new fibre based internet system?</p> <p>Am I being paranoid or unreasonably objectionable?</p> <p>In 2003, Telkom cut my telephone line and sent me a printed document on a Telkom letterhead informing me that I would need to take R1000 to the Telkom Centre in Braamfontein to have my line reinstated. I confirmed this information by calling the number provided on the paper and asked a friend to accompany me. Once there, we were directed to the 4th floor to a room in a corner where we were confronted with four armed me in Telkom uniforms who ****** us, physically attacked us, threatened to ***ually abuse us, and who cut me on my neck and back with a dagger – I have police and medical reports as evidence.</p> <p>Fool me once – shame on me – fool me twice – NO YOU DON’T!</p>
