I WANT OUT!

I have never been this angry in my entire life! I've noticed on my statement for the last three months there has been an extra charge of R200 odd (bearing in mind my contract is only R207). I've been paying my Telkom account manually for years as the account they were debiting has been closed. I've upgraded in the interim and no one seemed to have a problem that the account is paid manually. When I queried this, the agent advised that this was a debit order rejection fee. Why on earth is the debit order still not canceled after all these years? So I'm out of pocket R600 on fees alone just because I pay the amount manually every month and not 10 days before the debit order date. When I did my upgrade, why didn't the agent update my banking details or advise me of this ridiculous fee for manual payments? I've received an e-mail that an upgrade is due in two months. Online chat with agent resulted in nothing but being referred to a contract signed many years ago. There is apparently no complaints department and his manager will apparently just tell me the same thing he did, so no recourse for an angry customer. Contract is due to be renewed in 2 months. Forget it!

Just received a letter of demand for these fees. Well done Telkom. Final nail in the coffin. Already looking into fiber so my husband can move his business away as well, which is significantly more than my measly R200 a month.

Still waiting for some kind of feedback here Hazel from the Telkom Social Media Team, as per reference number AI ********** . I suppose you only respond to let the system note you as a "business that responds". To the satisfaction of their customers? I think not. I guess I'm just another small little fish in your very big pond.
