I held on for 40 minutes whilst having to listen the most irritating call center song ever played in the history of mankind!

<p>Last year October I was contacted by an overly eager Telkom sales rep with the following "good news": I could update my current Telkom data product and receiving a free Huawei Router. As always the deal seemed too good to be true so I told the lady that I don't want to be bound to a 24 month contract and that I will only accept the offer IF the contract will be on a month to month basis as my current contract was (otherwise I don’t want to upgrade or change ). She then assured me that it will be on a month to month basis just like my previous one.</p> <p>Seven months later I cancelled my contract as I have found a better product only to have the debit order still go off on the following month. After contacting the cancellation office I was told that my contract was in fact NOT a month to month but a 24 month one. I explained my whole story to the gentleman and how I was assured that it would be month to month as my previous Telkom contract was. I asked if I could please listen to the sales recording of October 2014 as I never received a contract to sign so I can hear for myself again what was promised and agreed upon during that direct marketing call. He said that he couldn't help me and that I have to phone 10210 to get the recordings.</p> <p> </p> <p>I held on for 25min at first as they were experiencing high call volumes. But as I cannot sit next to the phone all day I decided to try again later. The next time I held on for 40min!! No one answered.</p> <p> </p> <p>I cannot believe this customer service! I have a right to listen to the contract terms given to me again if there is a dispute seeing as I have no written agreement to refer back to! I had no other option but to phone my bank and reverse the debit order in the hope that someone somewhere at Telkom might notice and actually help me get to the bottom of all this. But off co**** no one has responded!</p> <p> </p>
