I have cancelled the contract within 7 days with Telkom but still receiving invoices and money is being debited from my account
On 03/07/2017 I received a call from Telkom offering me a 24 months contract (Wi-Fi router) of a 5G anytime and 5G night surfer at R129.00. I was to receive the router within 5 working days. When that didn’t happen I contacted Telkom on 12/07/2017. The lady I spoke to said that there was no sign of application under my name. She then offered me another contract with 5G anytime, 5G night +10G free for a period of 6 months at R149.00. On 18/07/2017 I received the router (2G) from the courier company however; on the 20/07/2017 I received another router (500MB) from Telkom. I refused to sign for it but the courier guy said he did not know what to do with it. Because it had my name on it, I signed for it with the hope that I will contact Telkom to come and get it. I DID NOT OPEN THE SECOND PACKAGE. I tried using the router (1st one) but there was no connection and only contacted Telkom on 24/07/2017 for assistance. The router was connected and when I wanted to use it on 25/07/2017 evening at home I couldn’t because the data was depleted. I was shocked because I believed that the 5G data wouldn’t be finished that quick. I then contacted Telkom again and the lady I spoke to gave me a case number ( ********** 0). I had asked the lady to cancel everything after which I ceased using the router. On 24/08/2017 I logged a query for a refund (Case No. ********** 9) as I had logged a query for cancellation of the contracts and this was resolved on 02/09/2017. Both routers were collected by the courier company on 08/09/2017. I have called Telkom several times to make a follow up on this but no one seems to know what is happening. Everyone I speak to just tells me that they are escalating the matter but I have not received a response up until now. This is frustrating because since August I have been paying for something that I did not order and I am not using.
