How Telkom are de*****ing customers through dubious and unauthorized subscribtions working Akinga vertical solutins e

In June 2021, I took a 24 wireless WIFI contract with Telkom and its linked to this number ***. I pay R199.99 on a monthly basis for this contract.

Since I took the contract in June, I've been constantly paying the R199.99. I noticed that in August of 2022, the amount that I pay suddenly increased to R254. I must clarify that I'm the only person who uses this wifi and who has access to its password. When the September statement came, I was charged R286 and in October it was at R294. This is when it became clear that there was something wrong with my account. On December 06, 2022, I called Telkom to verify why my R199.99 had suddenly skyrocketed without me changing how I use my wifi.

I was told that I had subscribed to Akinga vertical services and that they were charging me R3 per day. I categorically told them I had not subscribed to any services providers and that this should be canceled.

I went to the Akinga website and it refers to Telkom as its "trusted partner." I find it interesting that Telkom claims I accidentally subscribed from a company it does business with. It's odd that this Akinga company, with Telkom which has been ******** thousands of unsuspecting customers, claims on its website to be involved in anti-***** solutions. I was shocked to receive a message informing me that I should be paying R286.00. Telkom has ****** over R400 in four months. When I asked them, how and when I subscribed to this Akinga thing, they said people do it unknowingly simply when browsing the internet. This is nonsense and it doesn't make any sense as I've been using the internet since I was a teenager without subscribing to any obscure services. This is nothing but **************** and I want to be refunded my money back. Telkom is working hand in hand to rob consumers because they know that by the time, people see this subscription, they would have made money and they simply move into other consumers. Consumers should be protected from ************ an ****** like these two. I have also lodged a complaint with the NCC.
