How does Telkom stay in business???

I've just relocated from Cape Town to Plett. In Cape Town I had 2 landlines and ADSL. I originally wanted to cancel one line and move the other line and ADSL to Plett. I was then told by Telkom that there is no way I can have a landline installed to my new address as Telkom hasn't got infrastructure there. (My new neighbour has had a landline here for years so we know that's nonsense). But nevermind, I will take the products Telkom insists I need, Huawei B315 + Free SIM & Connection on SmartBroadband Uncapped Wireless 3 and an FLLA so I have both internet and phone. Great. I put the application in with Navarone Petersen and waited. But was then told I couldn't continue paying via EFT each month I must pay by direct debit. OK, I sent off more information. And wait. From when I first enquired a month ago until today I still do not have the solutions I need. and I sit here without internet or phone at home. For every 5 or 6 emails I send to Navarone I get one reply. Usually after an entire week of sending emails. I tried calling several of telkom's numbers for their Knysna branch, but it seems they can't even supply their own landlines as most of their numbers don't work. Eventually I get through but am told that Navarone is busy with a customer and can't take my call, so I leave my number and ask if I should leave my name as well, but the guy taking the message tells me he will just give Navarone my number, he must call me back to find out who I am.... For a company operating within the telephone industry surely they should be trained in taking a message??? Meanwhile my request to cancel both lines and ADSL at my old home in Cape Town was submitted, but I haven't had any kind of confirmation or response on that either.

Telkom, how on earth do you a) get new customers if you never process orders and b) keep your existing customers when you treat them so incredibly badly and can't offer them something as basic as a landline - when the infrastructure is indeed already there?!?!?! I need this resolving ASAP. There is a great internet service provider in the area offering even better uncapped internet for the same price and if it means taking that and not having a landline no. so be it - my vodacom cell phone will just have to do and you will loose my account entirely.

If this cannot get resolved by Monday morning please cancel my account with you completely. Enough is enough.
