How do you get your money back from Telkom?

We have cancelled our business account on 27/02/2012, but at the same time have also app**** for a new residential line. When our new invoices started to arrive we received the residential Invoice and a separately invoice for data. We presumed that it was part of the new residential line.

We have queried the account once via telephone, first the lady told me she can’t find the account and then said she will merge the account. I had no feed back in this regard. I was also at a Telkom Shop, and they told me I must phone Telkom. It was only recently when we upgraded our residential line that the operator (Mr Meilen Ramchander) advised me that something is really amiss with this account and that this part of the original business line was never cancelled and that it is not part of our residential package. I have been paying this data since March 2012! Apparently the part that was associated with the TIN number has never been cancelled. Although Telkom clearly shows on their system that the order to cancel the line was in 2012.

We then went in (December of 2018) once again to the Somerset West Mall Telkom shop and was assisted there. The lady has sent the applicable documentation once again for the line to be cancelled and a query in regards to all these payments that was made wrongfully and the procedure in regards to refunding us.

When I phone Telkom again on 25 January 2019, they informed me that the above mentioned Tin is still open!!!! In the mean time I have stopped paying this account, now we get sms's notifying us that we are in arrears!

We live in a the country, for us to Get to a Telkom shop is not easy. But, we went again to the Somerset West branch on 17 Mei 2019. The agent again, submitted the whole request, even gave me his own Telkom mail address an telephone number, guess what, no no reaction, except for a sms stating our contact details (which is incorrect according to the sms, but correct if you phone them). Since then, I have sent countless e-mails to dbc, telkom (stocs) and to an agent directly in Somerset Shop (Conroy Aaron) to NO avail.

To sum up: Telkom owe us now R33366.35!!!!!!!!! How does one get your money back from them, specially when it is their mix-up!

No telphone call, or e-mail, or correspondence up to this date from Telkom. And the account has still not been cancelled!!!!!!!
