How difficult is it to get a landline, after my line for over 20 years was cancelled without informing me?!

Hi. I previously had a Telkom landline number, which my Mom used. About 2 months ago, it was cancelled. I did not request it to be cancelled. My Mom has used that same number for as far back as I can remember. Apparently, the number was cancelled because there was not enough airtime in it. I find it unacceptable that this number would be cancelled without informing me (since my cell number should be linked to the account). I have called numerous times trying to get the number re-instated, even if I have to pay. But none of the consultants are of any help. It seems they are happy to just point me to a different service provider. The only reason I still want this service, is because of this number. Even just applying for a normal Telkom landline is an issue. If possible, I think some manager should please listen to the calls I made, and you probably wont be surprised why most customers are leaving. Anyway, if there's at all any way I can get my number back, or even offer me a landline, please do let me know. You call centre, really is of no help. Thank you.
