Horrible service from start until end of contract
This is a warning for all those that had, having or will have a Telkom contract: don't ever start a contract there.
From the beginning of the start of our contract in Jan 2016, there was an extreme bad communication. Telkom did not deduct money from us the first 2 months but only from the third month. However, since we apparently signed (please read all the small letters) that they can only deduct one month's debit of our account (?) , we were already in "debt" from the beginning and interest rates went up to 150r because of outstanding debts. In the end, they suspended our account without notice and after million of phoning we had to pay the debt and interest manually with a >200r cost re-installation. Then 2 months ago we handed in our request to not renew our contract 35 days!! before end date of our 24 month contract . Therefore we had to fill in a cancellation form. We even did it in the Telkom store to be sure. And indeed, on the end of our contract date, no internet anymore, however a new month was billed. After millions of phoning and a gold medal in patience at the Olympic games, they told us the cancellation was received but not processed?? They said they will cancel now. But no written confirmation could be given. The guy in the shop even said he is not allowed to confirm that in email. So no idea if it was now cancelled and from which date. Although we didn't had internet anymore, they still charged us for that because it was not cancelled correctly -however that was a mistake BY THEIR SIDE! But they could correctly cancel our service and not our billing? We were advised to ask for rever*****t of payment as we did pay for a service that was not given, moreover since we followed the right cancellation procedure. Next month, ofcourse penalised with 200r service fee and we still had to pay for a service we didn't receive. In conclusion, mistakes, lies, extremely bad communication, letting people pay for services not received, and the most horror customer care EVER. If you close down the internet on the right date, which means the cancellation was done correctly by our side, but still keep billing and penalising us for no internet given, how can you possibly still claim that we haven't cancelled properly? So we started with debts and ended with debts, all due to mistakes of their sides.
And as an individual you are helpless, there is nothing you can do then just paying for their mistakes or they will keep on penalising you or send debt collectors to you. So the only mission is to pay and warn others never to start a contract with them.
