Horrible, absolutely horrible customer service!
I have never wanted to resort to filing a complaint on hello peter.com but this is the only way I have left to deal with this problem.
We had a family business with three telkom lines. When we decided to close the business I contacted Telkom telephonically on the 28th of June to cancel all three lines. Two weeks later I phoned to follow up only to find out that none of the lines had been cancelled and I had to cancel them online on their new 'wonderful web portal'. What a laughing matter that was. After two hours of searching for the cancel service button I finally just did that, I even received confirmation codes.
So on the 20th of July (business closing the 31st of July) I phoned again to make sure that I cancelled all the lines and that everything was in order. Only to be told it wasn't cancelled and I needed to visit a telkom store. So I went to the telkom store at Cape Gate, the guy there proceeded to do exaclty what I did, cancelling on the 'wonderful web portal.'
Guess what, still not cancelled. I went in again on the 8th of August only to be told the lines still haven't been cancelled. I did it again with the guy at telkom on the 'wonderful web portal' because apparently that's all they have access to in store - the same system I have access to at home.
A few weeks later I moved to Bloemfontein and when I got here the invoices just kept coming. On the 8th of September I again visited a Telkom store, this time Loch Logan only to have them cancel it again on the 'wonderful web portal.'
It's now been three months since I iniatially cancelled these three lines. I have done everything in my power to cancel them, telephonically, in person five times and yet the invoices still keep coming. What else can I possibly do to make Telkom cancel these lines. I live 40km's out of Bloemfontein, each trip to Loch Logan costs me R200 in fuel and yet they still keep sending me invoices.
This is absolutely ridiculous. The best part is when I offered them the references from my first visit to Telkom in June, they told me they are web references and mean nothing. NOTHING?
I am so disspaointed that people are hired and placed in 'user-friendly' stores only not to have any power at all. I have no idea how to go about cancelling these lines anymore, only to ignore the invoices? Is that what service has come to with Telkom?
For the purpose of this complain I could only enter one account number. but the story is the same for the other two accounts as well.
