********** Service

I app**** for an unlimited data contract at Telkom in October 2016 at the Mall of Africa Branch.

This was a quick process since I had an existing mobile contract. Ngiphile assisted me and I took the sim card and portable wifi device home. After setting up the device, I then realised that it would not pair with any of the devices . The following day I took the device and sim card back to the store and the technician tested the device and sim card and confirmed that the device was faulty………..this took 2 hours waiting.

I then requested for a new device and I was told that the manager had already left so they can not authorise a new device. So I left the device and sin card at the store. When I followed up the next day,I was told that the device will be sent to the IT department for fault finding.

I kept phoning, logging calls and nothing came out of it………….end of October I was billed, I disputed the invoice but my account was debited. At the end of November, the IT department was still investigating what was wrong with the device and I again asked for a new device since I have never used the one that was allocated to me……………..I was told that this is not possible and that I have to wait for the device from the IT dpt. I then decided to cancel the contract. Ngiphile submitted the cancellation form…….this took 1 hour at the store and I was given an incident number. A week later I received an Invoice for end of November which I disputed but my account was debited. Telkom contacted me to ask if I still have the device and I explained that the device is with their IT dpt. This was the last I heard from Telkom.

It is now the 8th of June and every month my account has been debited R 799 and every time I call, I get the same story that my account has not been cancelled and that an incident has been logged.

Is this some kind of JOKE! It has been 7 months! How difficult is it to cancel a contract. This is ridiculous. I want a refund and the contract must be cancelled.
