Hiding behind the system with no commitment

Trying to move my Telkom line to the new residence.

I did the online "move your line" application and selected a date for the move to happen. The options were blocked out for some days and so I chose the first available spot. Expecting some communication after the application was complete.

I then received an sms with some wrong address information thanking me for moving my Telkom services to the new address. Still, no confirmation of the date as requested.

Today I called in as we are getting closer to the moving date. The consultant said that she could not see much information on the request as it was done online and they still need more information from me. I said to her that she must get all the formation from me as I am now on the line and to confirm that my line moving date corresponds with the date requested as I had done the request in advance as per the online website portal. She could not and had to send a mail to escalate this. Again I asked for a way forward with timelines and she could not advise. I then requested to speak to a supervisor. The gentleman came onto the phone and hid behind the system. The system says this and so we can't do anything. The best we can do is next week as we have just escalated this. My family sitting without communication at home is a security risk I told him. the best we can do is next week as the system does not allow me to do anything else. It was like speaking to a trained employee with no way of sorting a problem out. He tried to explain to me that he could not confirm this date until I agree, I need the line to be transferred on the date that we are moving. He advised that someone would call me to confirm the date. Telkom again could not commit to a timeline for the call. I am still waiting.

I then mentioned that I want to cancel my internet with Telkom as we now have much better Fibre deals in the area. The same supervisor said there is nothing he can do until my line has been moved! So I have to wait for my line to be moved at Telkom's discretion (why even give one the option) and then pay for the extra time due to Telkom on your cancellation of part services. This is outrageous.

This all cost me over 40min in time too, waste of time for sure.

STILL No communication.

Hi Kegan

Thank you for your reply.

I called in again this morning at 08:20 am. Telkom is still unable to confirm a date! Process Process!

What is going on?

This process and installation date needs clarification and urgent attention.

How long must one wait to get a line moved within the same complex? One flat to another.
