In June of 2017 my mother was called form Mobile Talk offering her a promotional wi-fi router on contact for R149 per month, she then agreed and took two contracts.

However before agreeing she asked when does the promotion end and it was brought to her attention that the promo ends on the very day once she leaves the office. The productsecond was delivered on the 27th June 2017 and on the 12th July 2017 she then recieved her first invoice. However on the both device summerys there was a charge for two months and an additional add on that was for the 4 days being (27th till the 30th June). She was also told that the first deduction would be on the 1st of August.

With that being said we decided to give them a call, resulting in the consultant dropped the call in my ear. This being done because the questions that I raised was something that she don't want to answer. I do find that really disrespectful and extremely unprofessional.

We then chose to make our way to the nearest Telkom store as we thought that would help us however this also seem to be an unsuccessfully venture, aso the consultant mentioned that there is nothing that we can do about this but pay the bill. He also brought to our attention that the first R149 was for the device for the month of June and then the second R149 was for July including the add on for the 4 days. It was also brought to our attention that the promotion is still available.

I do understand that there are claws in taking out something like this however the fact that agents in a call center can hide such important information is totally unacceptable. Information such as needling to pay R149 for a full month of June for the device and then an additional amount for the data for the 4 days.

I've decided that I want to expose this matter as it saddens me to think how many other people aren't drawn into the same trap and mislead.
