Hidden cost and information on contracts

1st Issue – Given open contract instead of top up contract as I was promised by sales I took a second line with Telkom for uncapped LTE data for R499. This was done telephonically and the agent who called me to take out the deal never ever mention to me that this will be an open contract where the sim card will be charged for extra usage. From my knowledge then, this was a top-up data contract. I was using this sim with the home router. during load-shedding the sim will be inserted in the phone and and calls were made thinking that it’s a once off promotion as this was said to be data link. I was billed extra for two months. I contacted support to enquire about this contract and only found out that this is the open contract where other usage is allowed and will be billed. What frustrates me the most is that the agent who called me for this offer never explain that to me. Agent promised me a top up contract but activated an open contract. This now have a very negative impact in my finance as I did not budget for that, should I have known prior that this is an open contract, I would have not taken it. On the day that I called customer care. They advised me to do a migration to top-up. Doing that as well will have to be charged to my account hence I refused. I asked her to log a Service request for this(see below ref no and the time of the call ended). Two to three days later I received a message from Telkom saying the service request has been closed, no resolution was included I’m still in the dark even now yet I need to pay the high amount. I’m very disappointed with how Telkom treat us as customers, the least they could have done was to give me feedback of that SR rather than just closing it. They do not care.

Name of Agent: Senzi Time call ended: Mar 29, 13:10:35 SR ***

2nd Issue - Event Billing Usage When I ask about this in my last statement I was told that it’s a connection fee which will be charged once, but now this is my second month seeing this in my statement and as far as I know, a connecton fee should only be charged once after the line was activated. Last month this was charged R51 and now its R85

I believe that as a consumer, I should be given all the details when taking out the service and they should not be any hidden cost so that I fully know and understand what I’m getting myself into but it's so disappointing and frustrating that this crucial information is hidden from us and we end up having to suffer at the end. I am not satisfied at all with the service I have been given since I took out the second line.
