hell-kom

Today marks a year when we had the first covid-19 Positive case in South Africa. To me it is the reminder of the hardship i had to come across. This day reminds me of companies like Telkom who could not assist even when I asked for their help. Companies that benefited a lot out of the Covid-19, through taking advantages of the poor south African. At some point i had to make a decision of supporting my family or pay Telkom. I chose my family. And this resulted to the suspension of my number. I tried to contact them but i could not go through, infect i was transferred from one call centre agent to another, then the next thing got a call from their collections department and the agent insisted that I must even though i explained to her that i can’t pay due to that we were no longer getting paid at work and I will pay as soon a everything goes back to normal, from the I did not get any calls from them instead every time when I got funds from my UIF they were the first to debit even though I was not even getting their services. Sometime in January 2021, I gave them a call again to check my balance the lady that I was speaking to told me that it doesn’t show on their system but she told me to hold while she is transferring me, I waited close to an hour then my phone got hanged up, I tried calling in again and the same thing happen then a few minutes letter i got an SMS to tell me that all of my lines were cancelled. Then yesterday i got a call from a company call AGCS to tell me that i owe them R 6 882.65. the last time i checked i owned Telkom R 3,725.46. and if I take time to pay them I’m going to incur interest of 0.75% on the balance every month and telephone/email R22.80 + vat sms R3.19 + vat and R 800 penalty fee.

It make me angry to think that before the pandemic, i had never skipped any of your debit orders, and I always paid my accounts on time. Why do I have to suffer like this as if I came with this Pandemic ?
