Harassment by collection Telkom collection agencies

Some time ago I was contacted by a debt collection agency alleging that I owed Telkom a considerable sum of money. The manner in which I was contacted and spoken to was very unpleasant and in order to addres the matter I eventually had to prepare an affidavit and provide a considerable amount of documentation to the agency. I was then notified that the amount had arisen due to a ***** at Telkom and nothing was due from me. The agency was presumably paid for its time whereas I receivedno compensation for the time and costs I incurred on the matter, which fundamentally arose due to a lack of internal controls at Telkom.

Subsequent to that I have had numerous Telkom debit orders processed through my account which my bank has reversed. Once again, the problem originates at Telkom yet my bank and I do the work to correct it.

I have again been contacted by a debt agency alleging that I owe Telkom a considerable sum of money. Despite informing the agency that I do not owe the money, that it relates to a ***** and that Telkom should be asked to provide contract supporting the alleged debt, the response is that I should run around and produce documents to prove that I do not owe a sum I sum I know nothing about.

It is fundamentally wrong that Telkom and the debt agencies it employs are permitted to attempt to bully consumers in this manner.
