goodbye telkom, moving on to another isp

i have been a telkom adsl customer for exactly two years now. i've had problems of service interruption here and there, made a complaint and it was sorted. however on the 21st of october 2016 i reported a fault as i had no internet or phone use, i was told it was a cable related fault and they will fix it. so on november 5 while i was doing my shopping in cresta i decided to purchase a wireless router from telkom, reason being so as to have internet access while they fix my adsl line. i told the consultant that i am an adsl account holder and i just want a temporary router for the time being.... she understood me and offered to sell me a smart bb wireless router for R310 as it has good speed. Then she also just mentioned that because the speed is fast however data runs out quickly. So she said if my finances are enough i should buy 100gb of data for an additional R999. i made it point blank to her that i want this to be a cash purchase and i do not want to be obligated to another contract, which she said if the 100gb is too much i can purchase a lesser bundle as to how much i've realized i consume. that was easy and painless. i paid my R1 309.00 in full and left. i then used this router between november 5 2016 to december 5 2016 and i've never used it since. reason for not using it anymore is that my adsl line was eventually fixed on december 5 2016. in october i had an adsl bill of R1 546. 80 which i paid in full. at the end of october. when my adsl line was reconnected in december i was told to pay R288.00 for my line rental for the month of november even if i didnt have any services. as a good citizen, i obliged and payed R290.00 on december 7 2016. December 9 i receive a statement from telkom saying i owe them R1 886.00 i queried what for, as i didnt have any services for november then the logged a dispute, i was told they will phone me in 72hours, of which they never did and was given this reference number ********** 8. a month goes by i hear nothing from telkom, i phone again on january 10 2016 and they gave me another reference number ********** 2. another 72 hours go by and still no response from telkom. i phone again today and im told that i now owe telkom R4 100.00. before i freaked out i asked her how, then she says in november i used R990. on my lte package, then in december i used another R990 on my lte package. the rest i used on my adsl package. what i want to tell you is, im not paying all that SORRY, either you give me my adsl bill from december 5 2016 to january 13 2017 ONLY or you continue thinking i will pay all that amount. in my two years of using telkom i've paid more than R1 700.00, so this R4 000.00 you are talking about puzzles me. disconnect me, blacklist me, do whatever you can but im not paying you R4 100.00 for using a month of data.

thank you noleen, tomorrow im going back to the store in cresta, hope i can meet the lady who assisted me with the purchase of the wireless router, because before my purchace i told her i wanted a router and a prepaid sim. but i did receive a call on friday that this consultant sold me a router for cash. and put me on a 100g data sim card contract for 24 months. i dont know who in their right minds would sign up for an adsl & lte contract for one household unless i was running a business. (which im not) i do not mind paying for the november data because i did use that (though it wasnt explained that way to me) but i hope they do not expect me to pay another R2000 for december & january as i did not use their sim card. and another thing, please telkom train your staff, this incompetence and ignorance is close to *****. we are consumers and we know our rights. i'll let you know how it goes. thanks again!
