Frustrations with Telkom / Openserve Service

Frustrations with Telkom / Openserve Service

Telkom, as my internet service provider, lured me into moving my fibre connection from Vumatel to Openserve. I regret this decision deeply. I've had Openserve for less than a month, and during this short time, I've experienced fibre outages more than four times.

Currently, I don’t even have internet access at home. This latest outage occurred after an Openserve technician worked on a pole in my neighborhood yesterday. The entire neighborhood experienced an outage due to whatever the technician was doing. While fibre was restored for some houses, mine remains offline. My children are writing online exams!!

I called Telkom's support line (10210) and spoke to someone named Brandon. To my dismay, Brandon told me he couldn’t assist me from his end. Instead, he said that a technician would have to visit my property—and that I would have to pay a call-out fee! This is absolutely insane. The disruption was caused by their own technician’s incompetence, and yet I am expected to pay to fix their mistake. This is completely unacceptable. For reference, the incident has been logged under numbers ***9 and B***9.

Adding to my frustration, the salesperson who convinced me to switch to Openserve blatantly ****. There was absolutely no need to move from Vumatel to Openserve. I was perfectly happy with Vumatel's service. Since moving to Openserve, not only have I endured constant outages, but the promised internet speeds of 100 Mbps up and down are nowhere to be seen. No matter the time of day, the speed never comes close to this.

I feel compelled to caution the public about the poor and underhanded service from Telkom and Openserve. Their sales tactics are deceptive, their service delivery is abysmal, and there’s no meaningful recourse when customers are being **********. This entire experience has been nothing short of infuriating.
