FreeMe - Ripped me off

I took a FreeMe contract for my fiance with telkom just before leaving South Africa on business in September. I took the contract because of free Whatsapp and Viber calls as it would be convenient not to worry about data when I call her on Viber. I specifically told the person who sold us the contract to cap the out-of-bundle limit to R1 as per all my other contracts with telkom.

The bill came and Bamm! I am R500 over for roaming on MTN 3G. I have 3 contracts already with Telkom and I always roamed for free on MTN network.

I contacted customer service and asked why I was never told that I will be paying for roaming data cost on this freeMe contract, there was no answer.

I asked why is it R500 over after specifically teling them to cap the limit at R1, they told me that they did but it was to start the next month.

I am so disappointed with Telkom. I was with them and happy for almost 3 years and this FreeMe cheat really disappointed me. I told them this is unfair because they I wan't told that that there are now roaming costs on MTN and that the R1 limit will only be from October, so I could be careful in September. They said I HAVE TO PAY, or else...

The FreeMe didn't free me, I am now stuck with R500 extra on a R269.00 cellphone bill.

Only if I was at home I would go to the branch and speak to the manager or something but unfortunately I'm far.

Reviewer Update

Oh... Fortunately, my bill has been revised and I was credited the R500.
