Freeme. Limited network leads to false advertising and spend wallet is a strategy to excess billing
I was on telkom 1GB freeme package for 2 yrs. I did have a slight problem with network until a consultant advised me how to use the mtn network. It helped because I received a better network and didn't have to pay anything extra. Time for an upgrade I received a call from telkom offering me a package with 10Gb free for the first 3 months. I was told I could use that data to setup my new phone. I signed up and shortly received my device. I firstly tried setting my spend limit manually and was unable to. Called the call center several times and was told I couldn't set up my spend limit the 1st month as I was In the process of an upgrade. Suddenly I realise I was being billed like crazy. When I called to find out about my bill I was told because I exceeded my data limit. When. I enquired about the free 10gb I was told I was roaming on mtn network so it does not apply to me. I was never told that. And the 10gb is useless to me now that I realise there's no telkom in my area. I'm made seceral calls and attempts for someone to assist me but 8 keep getting sms stating I should expect a very important call from telkom but up till today I never received that call. Pls son sign up on telkom mobile if there isn't network in your area. I have a bunch of community members that are all frustrated that's there's no network any longer in the area.
