*****ulant debit orders FNB bank

In July 2016, my wife received a telephonic request to sign up for a Network service provider, associated with Telkom for LTE internet , data and cell phone minutes. She supp**** all the information required to take out the contract. We received the modem and all the associated supplies for the installation. However, we had a change of mind and cancelled the contract within the 7 working days cooling off period. We telephoned the contact number of the company and was assured that the contract will be cancelled, without any costs. We were told that the modem will be collected via courier. The courier took approximately 15 days after the cancellation to collect all the material supp****, this after several phone calls to the company concerned. My wife then noticed that her account was debited for an amount of R459-00. We then querried this amount and got confirmation from the company that there were no charges for our cancellation. We then reversed the charges at the bank. Since then we have been debited repeatedly by this company for different amounts ranging from R50-00 to R2000-00. We understand that this was now handed to a debt collector. All the amounts were reversed. My wife was also listed by this company on the TransUnion Credit Bureau. Everytime we complain to the bank, the bank reverses the debit orders. Everytime we telephone this company they transfer our calls from one operator to the other eventually going on hold. The debit orders reflect TELKOMTEK and now recently REBDTELKOM. We have also disputed the listing with TransUnion and are awaiting a response from them. The bank has notified us of a new debit order and that we must sort this matter out with the service provider concerned. I'm totally disgusted firstly with Telkom for allowing such *****ulant companies to use their name and secondly with FNB for their lack of tighter security in dealing with such debit orders. My wife is now contemplating legal action and closing her FNB account totally.
