On the 31st of August 2018 Telkom deducted R731.64 (***). That deduction made me aware that someone had opened an account against my name without my consent. I then went to Telkom in Potchefstroom Mooi River mall to complain of *****. I was then informed to submit an affidavit from the police station stating that I did not open an account. That action was done on my side and documents submitted to a consultant (Tshepo) who logged in the matter and submitted the affidavit to ***** department. In February 2020 I went to Telkom and to my surprise the matter has not been resolved. Feedback from the consultant is that ***** department closed the matter on their side, but did not inform the consultant. I was then referred to another person who called from *** number. He checked on the system and informed me that the complain was sent to the wrong channel, which was mobile ***** department and said he will call within 5 days with feedback and requested to speak to the consultant. I never received any calls within five days and due to that, I then went to Telkom and was told that they are still waiting to be told which channel they should forward the complain. They took my numbers again and promised to contact me. I was never contacted and that forced me to go back to Telkom. I asked the consultant if whether it was possible for Telkom to write a letter explaining that they are still investigating my matter and was told that legal department will only write a letter when the matter has been resolved. I'm trying to buy a house, but find it difficult to get a bond approval due to the incompetence or unwillingness to get assistance from Telkom personnel in Potchefstroom.
