***** committed by Telkom Salesperson on my name/account

Greetings!

A Telkom representative committed ***** against my name/account when I accepted a data deal that she sold to me via a Telephonic Sale that she initiated without my request nor my permission to take/access my personal cell phone number.

In June 2015, Telkom Sales Consultant by the name Oliphant called me and offered me a mobile router contract deal with a monthly payable premium of R60.

She indicated that once-off amount of R99 was going to be debited in my account, then after the monthly premiums of R60 were going to be debited.

I tele-accepted this deal. Few days later she called me and requested a delivery address for the device, during week days and office hours. So I gave her my work address for delivery purpose.

June, July August passed by without a deduction nor follow up written agreement by/from Telkom. In July I stopped using the device. On the 19 August 2015 I sent a cancellation e-mail to Telkom Cancellations:

Reasons for my early termination I stated were: ********* business practice: failure to timeously honour their obligation and only sending me 3-month late statement to the wrong address and a messed up/ ******* amounts (R84) on the statements that were not agreed upon when I telephonically accepted this data contract.

Numerous times, I have called and e-mailed Telkom on this matter and to date they have not attended to this matter professionally, instead they have sent me to their debt collectors.

Instead of Telkom to retrieve their Tele-sale conversation where I accepted the deal so that they can determine who did wrong, they have listed me as ********* / messed up my credit scoring and as a result, I have lost lots of applications including a recent one on the house that I am trying to buy.

I am said to have commited fruad based on the mismatch of the ABSA banking details that they have on their records against my account whereas I have never had saving/cheques account with ABSA Bank. Telkom had my personal details prior calling me making their tele-sales that I had never given them nor had I made any application to them prior their tele-sale/call.

For number of times I have been requesting Telkom to retrieve their tele-sales recording where I accepted their deal so that can hear the whole conversation and they don't want to retrieve the tele-sales recording nor acknowledge their miscunduct in this matter.

I have even requested Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) to interven in this ********* business practice by Telkom. ICASA registered my complaint Reference is: KZN1219/16 but later (on the 10 June 2016) they gave me feedback that my complaint is beyond their jurisdiction and they have advised to contact National Consumer Commission.
