***** and *******ion ruining peoples lives
Wow. Where to begin. In August 2017 we reached the point of no return with our Telkom DSL line as it seemed as if we were experiencing technical difficulties just about every second day for 3 straight months. Rather than dump Telkom we decided to upgrade our DSL package to a LTE contract and in the process we would just cancel our existing DSL contract. Before taking up the DSL contract we got confirmation from a Telkom agent at the Liberty Midlands Mall that we could cancel the DSL contract and she informed us that we would probably have to pay for one months subscription as a notice period. I sent the cancellation documents to Telkom in August 2017 and on the very same day almost within hours our DSL data was cut off and it appeared as though the cancellation had been successful. Low and behold! Despite out line and data being cancelled, Telkom continued to bill us every month from August 2017 and despite me personally going in to the Telkom shop at the Liberty Midlands Mall, phoning the call centre, using the online chat function and phoning the Telkom call centre, my account was billed over R7,000 which is now in arrears. Great, at least I never paid Telkom any money. I wish it were as simple as that. After **********ly billing me for absolutely no services provided, Telkom went and logged my "arrears" account balance with the national credit network which has affected my personal credit score. Our business is currently locked in a sale agreement and trying to raise bond finance which we're being denied because of my ********** Telkom account. You'd think that Telkom would be able to rectify an incorrect billing account within 30 days. No chance! It's been 9 months and Telkom is no closer to clearing my account today as they were in August last year. I wouldn't recommend Telkom to anyone. They are without doubt the most useless and careless company in South Africa.
