Formal Complaint - Sandton City Telkom Store
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the unacceptable treatment I received at your Sandton City store.
On my visit, I approached a sales representative who blatantly refused to assist me. Despite my repeated requests, she did not even attempt to open the system or take my account details. Instead, she clicked her tongue, stood up, and left me at the table. When I asked for her name, she falsely identified herself as Lerato Mokeona. This lack of honesty is deeply concerning.
I then requested to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, the manager was equally unhelpful. After we reviewed my bill together, I asked if she could call the sales rep to apologize. She refused, and another agent later told me the rep was eating and would not come. This level of disrespect towards a paying customer is unacceptable.
Furthermore, both the manager and the agent named Tumi were not wearing name badges. When I asked for their names, Tumi claimed her badge was broken and spoke to me in a disrespectful tone, raising her voice and back-chatting. At no point did she make any effort to assist me, not even by opening the system or attempting to read the bill with me.
I left the store feeling humiliated and discriminated against. I strongly believe that if I were of a different race, I would have been assisted immediately. This perception of bias is extremely troubling and should be taken seriously.
As a paying customer, I expect professionalism, respect, and a willingness to assist. The behavior I experienced was the opposite. I request that this matter be investigated thoroughly, and that appropriate action be taken against the staff involved to ensure no other customer is subjected to such treatment.
