Fixed voice line complication
Two weeks ago we received a new telephone from Telkom and a SIM card that is to replace our current wired landline service, but allows us to keep the landline number. Since the day we received this SIM we have not been able to make or receive calls at all!
I have been to Telkom in Somerset Mall twice and my husband has been there a couple of times too. We have called every possible service/call centre number and even after holding the line for more than 2 hours (collectively) thus far not a single soul ever answers the call. Out of desperation we have tried the online chat platform/agents are useless and their only purpose it seems is to refer us to another department (such as going to our local Telkom store or calling that useless 10213 number).
We did not ask for our landline to be transferred to this new SIM wireless system, Telkom insisted on this. And now we have not been able to receive or make any calls for two weeks (and we run our business from home with this number). This is loss of business for us, and loss of income. And why should we pay for a service that is non-existent from Telkom?
This has been the most frustrating experience we have ever had to deal with with Telkom, and the fact that there is not a single human being on their side that understands what the hell is going on or how to get our landline running again is just unacceptable!!
